We all like video games and, probably, we have ever wondered what it would be like to live inside one. The movie Free Guy invites viewers to free guy dive into a crazy video game, and meet the characters who live in the city of Paradise. One of these NPCs will be Guy (Ryan Reynolds), who will have to rebel against his AI and go against the game’s own code … to save the world from him. Directed by Shawn Levy (one of the producers of Stranger Things), it will debut in Spanish cinemas on August 13.
Jodie Comer and Taika Waititi, along with Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Joe Keery, are responsible for completing the cast of Free Guy, along with Reynolds. The story begins with Guy, who is a bank worker in a city where violence and crazy situations are the order of the day … something that does not seem to surprise its citizens too much.
The point is that all of them are actually characters in an open world video game. Guy’s life will take a 360 degree turn when he meets Molotov Girl (a player played by Comer): it is then that not only will he discover the truth, but the creator of the game, Antoine (Taika Waititi), intends to destroy this virtual world.
The team of developers (Utkarsh Ambudkar and Joe Keery) will have to deal with Antoine’s follies out of the game … and with Guy, the NPC who will stop acting as expected of him to save the world from him. While Shawn Levy (Stranger Things, Night at the Museum) is directing the project, the libretto is signed by Matt Lieberman (Scooby! The Adams Family).
We remind you that Free Guy will debut on August 13 in theaters in Spain. By the way, the actor seems to be leaving clues about Deadpool 3 on his social networks.
